Okay, I’m kicking myself a bit for putting this video up. Its a 22 minute segment from one of Kiyosaki’s seminars on building wealth. In case you don’t know who Bob Kiyosaki is, he is the author of “Rich Dad, Poor Dad“. Kiyosaki is a personal finance “guru”. He is called a “guru”, because he is a popular speaker and writer on the topic of money and wealth building.

Sometimes Kiyosaki is right, sometimes he is dead wrong. When you watch the video I would try to stay focused on Kiyosaki’s main point, which is that you should be acquiring assets, not liabilities. Other than that, I would take the bulk of Kiyosaki’s assertions with a grain of salt.

MANAGE YOUR MONEY TOGETHER

Here are some simple guidelines for DINKS to build wealth:

1) Collaborate: Meet regularly to talk about money, set goals together, track and monitor them.

2) Understand and respect your partner. Take time to understand your partners values about money.

3) Watch the numbers. Get a budget, monitor your spending and track your net worth.

4) Max your retirement. Maximize contributions to your tax deferred retirement accounts.

5) Invest in stock. Stocks perform better than bonds or cash.

6) Avoid high interest debt. Credit cards and title loans are financial cancer.

7) Diversify. Don't put all your eggs in one basket.
