Ever wonder what to do with your old books, dvds, and games? We all know that if you are lucky enough to find a used book store to take back your books, you often don’t get much out of the value that you actually bought the book for. This is particularly true for text books and class materials.

Someone on Craig’s List referred me to this great way to trade books online. I’ve checked it out for the past couple of months to make sure that I was willing to recommend it on our site.

The site is called swapsimple and the basic premise is that you post your books and then commit to sending them out within three days to the person who ordered the book. They send you a pdf of prepaid postage, you slap the label on the package and drop it in the mail. You don’t even have to wait in line. Posting is also simple, you just have to enter the ISBN number on the back and it pulls the cover and description to verify a match.

Ordering is also simple, you instantly get some credit for the books you post and then get full credit for those mailed out. You pay $2 for each trade, plus book rate shipping, and your average book then costs you less than $4! It sure beats the local book store. The best part is that you can get rid of books you currently have without feeling like you are throwing your money away.

If you are interested in giving it a go, I’d highly recommend checking it out. If you do, it’d be great if you use the referral code of miel44 and I’ll get some credits for sharing this great site.

Happy Swapping!

MANAGE YOUR MONEY TOGETHER

Here are some simple guidelines for DINKS to build wealth:

1) Collaborate: Meet regularly to talk about money, set goals together, track and monitor them.

2) Understand and respect your partner. Take time to understand your partners values about money.

3) Watch the numbers. Get a budget, monitor your spending and track your net worth.

4) Max your retirement. Maximize contributions to your tax deferred retirement accounts.

5) Invest in stock. Stocks perform better than bonds or cash.

6) Avoid high interest debt. Credit cards and title loans are financial cancer.

7) Diversify. Don't put all your eggs in one basket.
