Good morning Dinks. I hope you all had a great Halloween. It’s November 1st and I think the cold is here to stay. I thought that maybe the cold weather was just a little front, but I think this is the start of our cold winter season.
The change of seasons, especially cold seasons, always wants to make me shop. But as a former shop-a-holic I have to resist. I am definitely tempted to go out to the mall and buy bags of warm sweaters, turtlenecks, mittens and boots. I have to remember that I already have a closet full of those things and if I spend money my credit card will never forgive me.
How do you resist the urge to go on a spending spree?

Thanks very much for including my post in the Weekly Roundup, Kristina! Much appreciated!
I try to avoid the urge to buy all the sweaters I see by taking stock of what I have and what I need. Somehow having a goal of finding the needed items keeps me on track. I also take a look at my money goals for this time of year. With holiday gift-giving coming up, it usually puts my wants lower down on the list! Buying gifts for others helps too.
Why not make money out of the old ones and do a garage sale and sell the old turtlenecks and other outfit for the cold season? Shopping for new clothes can be fun but you might want to stay on the practical side. Sell some and buy just what you really need. Just a suggestion. ;)
My wife and I love shopping. I understand how hard it is to control your urge to buy. But take control over it. Thanks for the links. Enjoyed reading the posts.
I dunno, stopping myself from shopping is pretty easy…if I don’t NEED something I don’t feel the urge to go to a store. Plus, going to a store to get something is like a military mission – get in, find THE item I need, and get out. As fast as possible. :)
thanks for including my post!
