Extra $ with ING

ING Direct was one of those great financial finds that I’m happy to pass on to anyone. ING makes it even better when they offer a bonus for referring a friend. Here’s how it works:

  • A current account holder sends a referral to someone interested in opening a money market account with a current interest rate of 4.4%
  • ING then will give a $25 bonus to the person opening an account with $250 deposited when its opened, and a $10 bonus to the person who gave the referral.
  • All someone needs to refer another person is a first and last name and an email to send the referral to.
  • Some basics on ING: the account links to your current checking/savings account, so you don’t have to change your whole banking system; funds transfer easily between account, either on a schedule basis or when needed; you can open additional accounts to track saving for different goals.

ING has been a great find for James & me. We opened it when we were saving for our house and were tired of not getting the interest we deserved or getting dinged with charges from money market accounts with fees or minimums (ING is completely free, they pay you). Last year (opening midway through the year) we got just over $300 in interest, and this year we have earned $390. Not a bad way to earn some extra cash.

If you are interested in receiving a referral link, just send us your name and email and we’ll send you the link to get your bonus and start earning interest. Once you start earning interest, you’ll want to refer your friends and family!
