I therefore decided to reduce this debt myself by cutting down on my expenses and paying off the original balance. One of the websites that also helped me was http://www.3debtconsolidation.com/diy-debt-reduction.html the Do It Yourself Debt Reduction procedure.<BR/><BR/>Steps 1 and 2 are basic; you budget your monthly expenses and lower them totally by cutting down on useless expenses (such as 2 coffees every day, make your own coffee!)<BR/><BR/>Then in Step 3, you "Pay Off Debt with Highest Annual Percentage Rate (APR)" which in my case was the $8000 credit card debt for which i was paying 18% APR.<BR/>Note: At this point, it is also very crucial that you are not racking up more credit card debt and NOT putting that piece of plastic to make more purchases...
