Can I Have My Credit Card My Way?

Since we can’t create The Perfect Credit Card for us as individuals, we should find the best credit card available for us on the current market.  We often use our credit card for shopping, but have you ever shopped for a credit card?

I recently decided to take the test and shop around for the perfect credit card for me and my credit needs.  I thought that it would be interesting to know which credit card different financial institutions recommended for me based on my credit card usage.  Before I share my credit card shopping results with you I would like to ask you…How long have you had your credit card? Why did you choose to get that credit card? Was it because of a special feature or because that is just the card that your financial institution offers?

I decided to do some research and find out if my two credit cards are actually my perfect financial credit card matches. The basic questions asked by financial institutions when choosing a credit card were if I was looking for a personal or business card, and if my priority was a low interest rate or an annual fee.  Cash back, travel rewards and points for merchandise were also asked during my queries.  Based on my answers, here are my results:

Chase Bank offers us to help us Find The Right Card .  With just 2 easy questions Chase recommended that I apply for the Freedom Card.  This credit card allows us to save on interest as well as earn rewards.  For no annual fee we can earn $100 cash back upon spending $799, 5% cash back in bonus categories, as well as unlimited 1% cash back on all other purchases.

Bank of America allows us to use their Credit Card Finder to match our financial needs with the perfect credit card.  After choosing that I want a credit card with no annual fee along with cash back rewards Bank of America suggested 2 American Express cards, 1 MasterCard, and 4 VISA cards. Of my 7 options I would have to choose the Pink Ribbon VISA Signature credit card with World Points Rewards benefiting Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

HSBC currently only offers 2 different types of Master Cards.  This is exactly the opposite of Bank of America.  Are too many choices better or worse than not enough options?  HSBC offers different features including interest rates and reward programs on each card, which are tailored to individual needs.  I love this option! First we apply for the card we want and then we add on the additional features we choose.  In my opinion HSBC is the Burger King of Financial Institutions. We can have it our way!
