Today’s posting is a bit of a personal note. We DINKS are on the hunt for an inexpensive but good quality insurance provider.
Previously we had policies under Nationwide, but there was an issue with registering a rider for coverage on Miel’s wedding ring. What happened was that during our wedding, we bought a rider to cover the ring, but for some reason, Nationwide didn’t register the ring as being covered.
A few months later, one of the diamonds fell out of Miel’s ring, so we needed to file a claim with the company. Unfortunately, Nationwide’s response did not meet our expectations. They did cash our check for payment of the rider, but Miel felt that they were dismissive of her and ineffective in resolving the issue. Ultimately, the company denied that we had coverage.
At any rate, we voted with our feet and haven’t renewed our policies with them.
So, we’ll be making calls and looking on the internet to try to find a good replacement policy.
If you know of any good providers or could recommend someone, we’d very much appreciate it.
