Well…as you may know, both Miel and I are in graduate school, and since all bloggers seem to enjoy surfing the web, we thought we’d provide you some more interesting links pertaining to personal finance:

Networthiq:
I like this site. Its interface is a bit clunky and old fashioned, but thats okay. It seems more geared for personal finance hobbyists. A few of our fellow bloggers have their new worth over there, as do we!

Forbes Lists
While I have never picked up a paper copy of Forbes, their website is really first rate. They annually update a large number of lists on all topics, including real estate, publically traded companies, and rankings of the wealthiest people in the USA. Sometimes saving money is a bit dry and unexciting. So, its useful to cruse forbes on occasion, if not to remind oneself of what motivated individuals can achieve.

The 2004 Survey of Consumer Finance
Okay, the 2004 survey of consumer fiance isn’t really a webpage, its a report. But, if you are interested in seeing where you stack up to the rest of the country, you should have a look at it. It breaks out household networth by ethnicity, type of asset, age, etc. If you’re interested in money, (obviously you are, otherwise you wouldn’t be reading this blog), you’ll want to give this report a read.

Happy surfing!

– James

p.s. as always, if you’d like to drop us an email or discuss finance topics, we’d love to hear from you!

MANAGE YOUR MONEY TOGETHER

Here are some simple guidelines for DINKS to build wealth:

1) Collaborate: Meet regularly to talk about money, set goals together, track and monitor them.

2) Understand and respect your partner. Take time to understand your partners values about money.

3) Watch the numbers. Get a budget, monitor your spending and track your net worth.

4) Max your retirement. Maximize contributions to your tax deferred retirement accounts.

5) Invest in stock. Stocks perform better than bonds or cash.

6) Avoid high interest debt. Credit cards and title loans are financial cancer.

7) Diversify. Don't put all your eggs in one basket.
