So among other issues, there’s some debate in our household about the value of Suze Orman‘s financial advice. While I’d agree with James on his reasoning for giving Suze a bad grade, I feel compelled to offer my two cents worth:
1) Suze Orman most notably opened the world to discussing finances in women’s magazines. Just as multiple orgasms and masterbation would have never been seen in mags of my mother’s age, finances was an untouched subject. For this I give Suze props.
2) While I’m a bit behind the times, and just learned through James’ post that Suze has a TV show (we don’t own a TV), I think this is also a plus. If people are going to be spending their time in front of the TV, they might as well be learning how to provide better for themselves and their loves ones.
So while it’s been far too long since I’ve had time to crack a copy of Oprah, I’d like to applaud Suze for bringing financial issues into this realm of discussion.
